Take M-Pesa on your website, app, invoice or a simple payment link. Your customer gets a payment prompt on their phone, types their PIN, and the money lands in your own till or bank account. No Paybill paperwork, no contract.
The gateway is the layer between your business and M-Pesa. Instead of asking a customer to remember a Paybill number, copy an account number and then confirm a code, your system sends them an M-Pesa request directly. They approve it with their PIN on their phone. That flow is called STK push, and it is what customers already recognise from buying bundles or paying for parking.
When the customer approves, M-Pesa confirms the transaction, the gateway records it against your order, and your system is told instantly through a webhook. Your customer sees a confirmation on the same page they started from.
Money settles directly to the M-Pesa till or bank account you register. It is not collected by anyone else and held for days. Settlement details are set once in your dashboard: a Till number, a Paybill with account, or a bank account.
1. STK push through the API: one POST with an amount and phone number, for developers and website checkout.
2. Hosted checkout: every payment gets a link you can share. Useful when you have no website at all.
3. Payment links: sell on WhatsApp or Instagram, create a link with a fixed or open amount.
4. Invoices: send a professional invoice by email, the customer pays with one tap.
Under KES 10,000 collected per calendar month: free. Between KES 10,000 and 100,000: 2.5% of what you actually collected, billed at month end. Above KES 100,000: a flat KES 2,500 per month, whether you collect 101,000 or a million. No setup fees, no contracts.
Online shops, SaaS products, SMM panels, schools, clinics, landlords, churches, freelancers and anyone else in Kenya who currently loses sales because paying by M-Pesa is too much work for the customer.
You can poll a status endpoint, or take the webhook. The webhook is signed, so you can verify each delivery came from us, and it fires the moment a payment completes. A failed or cancelled prompt also fires, which matters if you build fulfilment on top of it.
